The year 2011 was brought to a close with an exciting trip To Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR)
Located in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra State, this Central India forest is home to the tiger as well as a good number of other species. Driving through the park on a chilly winter morning or at dusk gives good sighting of not only the Royal Bengal Tiger, but also the Leopard, Indian Bison (Gaur), Sambar, large herds of Spotted Deer and even an Indian Muntjac. It is also a birding paradise and a large number of birds can be sighted during your safari or even at your resort. Good butterfly species can also be seen.
A big thank you to Adesh Shivkar and Mandar Khadilkar of Nature India for arranging this camp.
The posts include photographs of some of the sightings. Enjoy the safari!
